Giovanni (Luigi Pistilli) un donnaiolo amante della vita, Teo (Riccardo Cucciola) vecchio compagno di scuola e meticoloso collezionista di orologi, e Maria (Marina Vlady) un amore di gioventù, sempre pronta ad aiutare i connazionali emigrati in Italia, ereditano un appartamento a Roma. Questa convivenza casuale, dopo un inizio faticoso, porta nuova energia nella vita di tutti e tre. Ma la morte improvvisa di uno di loro pone i due di fronte a una scelta: cancellare quell’ esperienza e rientrare nel grigiore del proprio destino o continuare nel cammino intrapreso verso un futuro insieme.

After an arduous beginning, this casual cohabitation brings new energies to the lives of all three. The sudden death of one of them puts the surviving two in a quandary: should they cancel this experience and go back to the dreariness of their destinies, or rather continue on the path they have embarked upon towards a future together?
